According to Globo.com, midfielder Zé Vitor was taken off due to pain in his right knee.

Coach Jair Ventura introduced Argentine Pochettino in his place, giving him his Vitória debut.

After facing Vasco, Vitória are scheduled to visit Botafogo at Nilton Santos on Thursday at 19:30 Brasília time.

That fixture is a rescheduled match from the fourth round of the Campeonato Brasileiro.
