Vitória’s Diogo Sousa set to join Strasbourg, as confirmed by Portuguese club official | OneFootball

RC Strasbourg Alsace have secured their first summer signing. Appearing on the TVI V+ channel, Vitória SC’s acting vice-president and presidential candidate Rui Borges has confirmed that Diogo Sousa (20) is set to join the eastern French club.

As reported by L’Équipe last month, Strasbourg are expected to pay a sum of around €10 million, excluding bonuses, to buy out the remaining two years of his contract with the Guimarães-based club.

A product of Vitória’s academy, the young Portuguese Under-21 international midfielder (two caps) made his professional debut there in September 2025, before establishing himself as a key member of Gil Lameiras’ squad.

Starting in 15 of his 28 appearances across all competitions (one goal, one assist), Sousa was instrumental not only in Os Conquistadores’ comfortable survival in Primeira Liga, but also in their League Cup victory.

A valuable signing for Strasbourg, who are expected to see Valentín Barco (21) move on to pastures new in the coming weeks.
