Kyle Walker has stressed the importance of maintaining discipline as he continues to live in a hotel while at AC Milan.

Walker joined Milan on a six-month loan deal with an option to buy from Manchester City. As a result, it is perhaps understandable that he hasn’t decided to move more permanently into a property, and the defender is actually living in a hotel.

Speaking on the Kyle Walker Podcast, the 34-year-old revealed that he is enjoying the food out in Italy but given where he lives it is important to remain disciplined when it comes to food.

“You have to be disciplined. The food out here is amazing. The flavours… a piece of bread tastes good. The food at the training ground is incredible – I bring it back to the hotel, I am not getting room service. They did a pesto pasta today. The tomatoes are even nice here.

“We get weighed every day. Your weight can’t change in a day. Even if you go out and have a big pizza or steak, it is not going to be drastically high so they ask ‘what have you been doing?’.

“If you have two or three days off you have to be a little careful because the manager is very keen on keeping the lads’ weight down. That is the way football is going. Every small detail matters.”

In a previous episode, Walker had spoken about that famous ‘not Messi’ clip involving him and a conversation with Joao Felix. In the meantime, his future with the Rossoneri remains uncertain amid rumours that the club will seek a discount on the option to buy from City.
