Ipswich Town shot-stopper Kayne Van Oevelen ‘wants to play for Valencia’ and the Spanish outfit are pushing to attach an option to buy to their loan pursuit.
The 23-year-old rose through Volendam’s ranks and established himself as the Dutch outfit’s first-choice goalkeeper over the past two seasons.
Last season, the Dutchman kept the opposition at bay on three occasions across 32 Eredivisie appearances, putting himself on the radar of several clubs including Leeds United.
The Tractor Boys, meanwhile, were looking to refresh their goalkeeping options and ultimately landed Van Oevelen on a five-year contract.
Ipswich also brought Kjell Scherpen through the door at Portman Road to compete for the goalkeeping berth, potentially leaving Van Oevelen facing a more uncertain role.

Valencia subsequently renewed their pursuit of the Dutchman, having already expressed an interest and even agreed personal terms with him earlier in the summer before his move to Ipswich.
The Tractor Boys and Los Che have since entered discussions over a possible loan deal for the goalkeeper.
Now, according to Spanish Valencia-focused programme Tribuna Deportiva, Valencia are ‘trying to secure a purchase option’ in their proposed loan deal for Van Oevelen as they look to make his stay at Mestalla permanent next season.
However, such a move ‘won’t be straightforward’, with Ipswich currently favouring a scenario that would see the goalkeeper return to Portman Road next season.

Van Oevelen ‘wants to play for Valencia’ and test himself in La Liga, leaving him waiting for the two clubs to strike an agreement.
Whether the La Liga outfit can persuade Ipswich to incorporate an option to buy into the loan proposal should become clearer in the coming days.
Valencia are also pursuing another Premier League star in Largie Ramazani, who they see as a top winger target, although they are yet to find common ground with Leeds.
