Barcelona may have several stars on international duty, but none have stood out quite like Andreas Christensen.

The Danish defender was a key figure for Denmark in their 6-0 win over Belarus, proving why he remains one of the most reliable players in the national setup.

Christensen, who has not been a regular starter under Hansi Flick at Barcelona, reminded everyone of his class with a commanding display at the heart of Denmark’s defence.

Playing all 90 minutes, the centre-back was rock solid at the back and surprisingly creative in attack.

It was his clever movement and composure on the ball that led to Denmark’s opening goal.

The Barcelona man carried the ball forward, exchanged a smart one-two with Mikkel Damsgaard, and then set up Victor Froholdt for the opener just 14 minutes into the game.

Unreal play from Christensen

The Danish international didn’t stop there. He was also seen taking direct free-kicks and organising the backline with real authority.

His leadership and reading of the game stood out, making it clear why coach Brian Reimer trusts him as a key figure in his defensive setup.

For Christensen, this performance was another reminder of his ability to shine when given freedom and confidence, something Barcelona could use more of under Flick.

Elsewhere, Frenkie de Jong was part of the Netherlands’ 4-0 win over Malta in their World Cup qualifier. The midfielder started the game and played 67 minutes, dictating play from deep before being substituted.

Meanwhile, Barcelona winger Marcus Rashford came off the bench for England in their 3-0 win against Wales. Though he didn’t start, his energy and pace added spark in the second half.

Robert Lewandowski, however, was rested during Poland’s narrow 1-0 victory over New Zealand, allowing him to stay fresh ahead of the upcoming match against Lithuania.
