A member of the attacking ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona proved himself the star of the show en route to an opening day victory for Barca Atlètic on Sunday.

The player in question? Víctor Barberá.

Barcelona’s reserve team got their campaign in the 4th tier of the Spanish football pyramid up and running a short time ago.

After a season to forget in 2024/25, the Catalans were no doubt desperate for a positive start this time round, in a home meeting with UE Porreres.

And when all was said and done, emerge on the right side of the result is precisely what Barca Atlètic managed.

Just as the matchup looked set to peter out into a draw, the aforementioned Víctor Barberá popped up with a fine header to break the deadlock:

And Barberá turned creator minutes later, slipping through Toni Fernández for a superb finish of his own, rounding out the scoring in a 2-0 Blaugrana triumph:
