Markus Krösche, Albert Riera and Nnamdi Collins with the reaction to Eintracht’s 1-0 home win against 1. FC Heidenheim.
Board member for sport Markus Krösche: “We’re obviously pleased with the win. Our play was a bit too slow in the first half and we didn’t really create much in terms of attacks. We were much better in the second half. It wasn’t easy after the sending-off, but we still managed to get forward in transition a couple of times. We should have made more of those openings. On the whole it was an important victory.”
Head coach Albert Riera: “We knew that Heidenheim would sit deep and wait for us to make mistakes. We were too passive, though, and needed more movement and mobility – when we did that, we created gaps and chances. We need to move the ball quicker and make better use of the spaces that open up. We have to make the opposition chase after the ball and tire themselves out. It’s a positive, though, that we kept a third successive clean sheet.”
Nnamdi Collins: “We kept a clean sheet and, unlike in Hamburg, we managed to get all three points here. We’ve still got plenty to work on, but we’re happy with the win. We set out to do lots of things and wanted the game to pan out differently. The sending-off towards the end was a bit unfortunate for us, but we still got all three points. We just have to create more chances against deep-lying teams, we need ask more questions of them. We’ve got room for improvement in that regard.”
