Guadalajara knows that it is time to turn around the latest results and get back on track in the 2025 Apertura. This was shared by Luis Romo, who spoke to the media in the press room at AKRON Stadium after Wednesday's training session.
The Rebaño player spoke about the introspection within the group regarding what has happened in recent matches and the courage needed to turn the situation around, motivated also by the confidence of Gabriel Milito's coaching staff.
Luis Romo's words at the press conference
"The effort made in preseason was tremendous, and the results were there. At the end of the day, we're not being accurate on offense; today we have a clear direction, we have to trust ourselves and demand more of ourselves."
"I did my whole process as a center back, it's a position I know and I worked there in preseason. The mistakes weigh on me, but every game is a learning experience and personally that's what I've tried to do."
"The responsibility is shared. The coaching staff has given us all the tools we need, and the demands are high. They have also supported us, and we have Gabriel Milito's full confidence."
"To the fans, I would say to keep supporting us. The demands will be even greater, we will give it our all, we have to channel that energy for the better."
"The boos are for all of us, we deserve them and there's no need to justify ourselves. We have to improve our confidence, our decisiveness, and go all out on every play to make the statement we want to make."
"We know what's coming up on the schedule. We are very clear that we have to turn it around, face it with a great deal of responsibility, and get out of this slump."
"The coach has demanded a lot from us at all levels, but he's also given us the confidence to play and take risks. Despite the results, he insists that we go for the results because he's sure of that."
"We are all Chivas. When we win, we all enjoy it, but when the results don't come, we all have to face it. The coach sees it, and we are working in various ways to get out of this."
"The schedule is tough, with opponents who will push us to the limit. The games will be more open, which will allow us to play more, and we have to take advantage of that starting this Friday to build confidence for what's to come."
"I feel very good physically. I want to win with Chivas, leave my mark here, and what I do at the club will take me to the national team. I'm focused on trying and learning."
"We Mexicans have the character that is needed. I've been in locker rooms with foreigners, and we are the ones who speak up the most. Here, we do it, we try; if I have to say something to a guy, I say it."
"Those of us in defense close ranks; we know we have to be solid so that those who attack have the peace of mind to try and make mistakes."
