Bayern Munich fell short in key moments which saw their elimination from the UEFA Champions League against Paris Saint-Germain, who will play Arsenal in the final on 30 May.

The Bundesliga champions took 18 shots in their second leg against their French counterparts but lacked the killer’s instinct in the final third despite their 62 percent possession.

Ousmane Dembélé opened the scoring in the third minute to give PSG a 6-4 aggregate lead while Matvey Safonov remain largely untested, until Harry Kane’s late strike in the fourth minute of stoppage time.

“They were killers,” Neuer told DAZN. “We had the opportunities, but we didn’t create any truly clear-cut chances. We lacked that key moment: we weren’t killers in attack.”

Konrad Laimer also weighed in, adding: “We had enough chances, but we lacked the final punch. We were sloppy and not as precise as we can be.”

With a Champions League trophy now unattainable, Bayern’s attention turns towards their DFB Pokal final against VfB Stuttgart on 23 May.
