Avenida forward Wellisson heads into a 17:00 clash with Inter de Santa Maria on six goals, chasing the 2026 Campeonato Gaúcho top-scorer prize and crucial top-flight safety.

According to Globo.com, he aims to pull clear while hoping rivals misfire. Fabinho Polhão, Carlos Vinícius and Borré are all on five, with the latter pair meeting in Sunday’s final at Beira-Rio.

A top-scorer finish would be a career first and a second straight year for an interior club, after Galego of Ypiranga in 2025. He fancies a family costelão, though it may wait, with a simpler Sunday night meal if it happens.
