Werder Bremen to sign RB Salzburg’s Alexander Schlager | OneFootball

Werder Bremen and RB Salzburg have reached an agreement for the transfer of 30-year-old goalkeeper Alexander Schlager, according to Sky Germany. A contract until 2029 has been agreed. 

The Austria international keeper is expected to be Bremen’s number two keeper , however Florian Plettenberg reported that competition with Karl Hein for the number one spot is to be expected. 

Schlager made 31 appearances for Salzburg in the Austrian Bundesliga last season and played in all four 2026 FIFA World Cup games for Austria as they got knocked out in the last 32 of the competition by losing 3-0 to Spain.
