The Baggies are keen on getting their transfer business underway after recently appointing former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Ryan Mason as head coach, with the club aiming to build a squad well-equipped enough to mount another promotion push back to the Premier League.

It’s expected to be a busy summer at The Hawthorns due to the club’s ongoing financial restrictions, with multiple outgoings expected to fund additions as the hierarchy try to find the right balance within the squad.

A move for someone of Brooks’ quality could be a shrewd addition for Albion, particularly given the Welshman has had previous experience of getting out of the division with Southampton two seasons ago.

As per a report from the Express & Star, West Brom have been touted to make a move for Bournemouth’s David Brooks during the summer transfer window.

Albion are believed to be one of a number of second-tier outfits keeping tabs on the 35-cap Welsh international, with the Cherries considering a potential loan switch so he can get more game time.

The versatile forward featured 29 times for Bournemouth during 2024-25 top-flight campaign, but earned just nine starts, with a short-term move away considered a possibility.

The Baggies are keen on adding midfield recruits following the departures of John Swift and Grady Diangana, and Albion also continue to have interest in the likes of Tottenham Hotspur’s Mikey Moore and Hearts frontman Lawrence Shankland.

Bournemouth's David Brooks would be a stellar addition to the West Brom squad

David Brooks seems to be a realistic transfer target for West Brom to pursue, with the Welshman currently finding himself down the pecking order at the Vitality Stadium, with the likes of Justin Kluivert, Antoine Semenyo, Dango Ouattara, James Tavernier and Ryan Christie all battling for starting spots.

The 27-year-old’s versatility would be a huge boost for Albion, with the attacker able to occupy a place on the wing as well as in a central attacking midfield role too, and this signing could kill two birds with one stone as the Baggies seek recruitments in both areas of the pitch.

Brooks could also be a vital replacement if the club lose influential asset Tom Fellows, who continues to be strongly linked with a move to top-flight outfit Everton this summer. Having a regular starter with proven pedigree towards the top of the English game on the right wing will be important to have to help ease the heartache by the academy graduate’s potential exit.

Possessing superb close ball control and a brilliant eye for a pass, the attacker is a standout option that could thrive in the blue and white stripes, with his promotion know-how potentially vital to the squad as Albion chase their return back to the big time.
