Aune Heggebo opened the scoring, O’Leary later assisted the second after George Campbell’s crucial block, and the hosts replied with a rebound consolation.

Campbell received eight, as did Ousmane Diakiate and Isaac Price, whose relentless work included a strike against the bar. Callum Styles improved after the interval and helped create the opener. Nolan Galves delivered a diligent debut, while Harry Whitwell and Felix Horn Myhre put in honest shifts.

Morgan marked his Championship debut with a goal and an assist. Heggebo, recovering from illness, led the line tirelessly.

From the bench, Jayson Molumby and Rabby Nzingoula entered on 68 minutes and scored sevens on lively cameos. Krystian Bielik, Chris Mepham and Barney Stewart appeared in stoppage time and were not rated. Unused substitutes were Ingram, Williams, Townsend and Johnston.
