West Brom sign Liverpool teenager Carter Pinnington on three-year deal | OneFootball

West Brom have signed 19-year-old defender Carter Pinnington from Liverpool on a three-year deal, with the England youth international to start with the under-21s.

ExpressAndStar.com reports that the centre-back, who can also operate at full-back and in midfield, spent more than a decade in Liverpool’s academy and was named on the bench for a Carabao Cup tie against Crystal Palace.

Crystal Palace were among the clubs monitoring his progress, but Albion moved decisively to secure his signature.

Pinnington expressed gratitude at joining Albion, felt the club was the right place for the next stage of his career after offers elsewhere, and looked forward to working hard whenever he wears the shirt.

He follows striker Barney Stewart, 22, who completed a £1.3 million move from Falkirk on Wednesday. Albion are also close to sealing a deal for Chelsea forward Jimmy-Jay Morgan.
