A mass brawl broke out during the Baggies’ 1-0 victory on 30 August, leading to a sanction by the Football Association, according to the BBC.

The incident occurred around the 60 minute mark, with players from both teams being involved in the incident.

Ryan Mason’s side clinched all three points thanks to a Nat Phillips goal in the 14th minute, securing all three points away from home.

Stoke and West Brom accept FA charge

It has been reported that both clubs have been informed of a standard £5,000 fine for failing to control their players.

It’s believed that the two Championship sides have accepted the charge, and will not be challenging it.

The FA charged the clubs after a “mass confrontation” took place, with the score already 1-0 at that stage.

But the Potters had their fair share of chances to get back into the game, but they were unable to convert any of their 13 shots, even hitting the post in the second half.

It was a tight affair at the Bet365 Stadium, with West Brom leapfrogging Stoke with their victory away from home.

Phillips’ goal came when he pounced on a dropped ball by Viktor Johansson at a corner, reacting first with an instinctive finish.

The victory meant that the Baggies went into the September international break second in the table, with 10 points from a possible 12 after the opening four fixtures.

Meanwhile, Stoke are currently right behind Mason’s side in third in the Championship, with this defeat being their only dropped points after winning their other three games in the league so far this season.

Stoke and West Brom will accept fine and move on

The £5,000 fine won’t have a lasting impact at either club, and they have no real choice but to accept it from the FA.

Both sides did lose control after a clash in the West Brom half, with shoving from either team leading to an extended break in play.

This is a standard procedure now, and Stoke and West Brom will know the score as it’s a common occurrence at this level.

The two managers will just be pleased that the incident didn’t lead to any red cards, which would’ve seen those players likely out of action for three or four games if dismissed during a brawl.
