West Brom target double striker move with Barney Stewart pursuit and Jimmy-Jay Morgan close | OneFootball

West Brom are aiming to complete a double addition up front as they move quickly in the transfer window.

According to ExpressAndStar.com, they hope to bring in Falkirk striker Barney Stewart and are close to signing 20-year-old Jimmy-Jay Morgan from Chelsea for about £1.3 million. Albion are understood to be frontrunners for Stewart.

Stewart, 22, enjoyed a standout first full professional season, scoring 18 in 33. He began the campaign on loan at Dunfermline, then was recalled by Falkirk in January.

London-born, he was previously on QPR’s books before moving to Scotland for university. He joined Falkirk in October 2024 after impressing as an amateur with Heriot-Watt University. Speculation over a move emerged last month.

Asked about the links at the time, Stewart called it surreal and said that, if it were to happen, it would be a big step and a quick rise he would need to take in his stride, while stressing it remained speculation.

Albion are also close to adding teenage defender Carter Pinnington from Liverpool, reflecting a proactive approach to this window. Previous windows were hamstrung by the need to cut losses to meet profit and sustainability rules, but that work now gives them greater room to operate.
