West Brom target SK Brann and Norway midfielder Felix Horn Myhre | OneFootball

ExpressAndStar.com reports that Albion are interested in signing SK Brann’s Felix Horn Myhre to strengthen James Morrison’s midfield before the Championship begins in around two-and-a-half weeks.

The 27-year-old Norway international, capped seven times, is on the radar of clubs abroad including La Liga side Elche. It is understood Albion are pursuing a move for a player regarded among the leading midfielders in the Eliteserien.

In Norway it is claimed a bidding war could develop for his signature. He is primarily a number eight and is considered technically strong.

Brann valued Myhre at around £3.4m last summer, a figure that deterred Elche, and the asking price is thought to have since been reduced. He has roughly 18 months left on a deal running to December 2027, and Bodo/Glimt and Brondby have also shown interest.

Brann were the former club of Baggies striker Aune Heggebo, signed for about £4.7 million 12 months ago. Myhre has two goals in seven caps and joined Brann after starting his career as a right-back.

Brann sit eighth in the Eliteserien, which runs across the calendar year, and face Universitatea Cluj in the Europa Conference League second qualifying round second leg on Thursday with the tie level at 2-2. Myhre is set to feature.

He would not comment on transfer speculation. At Albion, senior central midfield options include Alex Mowatt, who has captained during pre-season, Jayson Molumby and Ousmane Diakite, who signed an extended deal this summer.
