West Bromwich Albion have been encouraged to sign Danny Imray on a permanent basis in the summer transfer window - but they must stay up.
West Bromwich Albion remain involved in the Championship relegation battle, but the Baggies have at least begun to show some fight under the management of James Morrison.
With the failed experiment of Ryan Mason coming to an end in January, Albion followed that up with the risky appointment of former Minnesota United boss Eric Ramsay.
Ramsey lasted just nine games but, with four draws and five defeats, his six-week stint ended with West Brom staring down the barrel of League One football for the first time since 1993.
James Morrison, who finished the Baggies’ season with a flourish in interim charge last year, has started well, with five points collected from their three matches in March.
Their most recent outing, this weekend, saw them dispatch promotion-chasing Hull City at The Hawthorns by three goals to nil with an impressive and much-improved performance.
One man that has been given an opportunity to shine, and is repaying that, is Danny Imray.

Having arrived on loan from Crystal Palace in the January transfer window, young full-back Danny Imray is beginning to now be trusted by his new club.
Making just two starts, both as a right wing-back, in the opening month and a bit of his stint in West Bromwich, Imray has now been fundamental to Albion’s fruitful switch to a back four.
After back-to-back 1-1 draws against Sheffield United and Southampton, Imray earned his first assist at the weekend against Hull and FLW’s West Brom Fan Pundit Callum Burgess believes he could well be a good addition on a permanent basis this summer.
“Albion’s performances in their last two games have improved, and I think that Imray has been a part of that.
“We’ve been able to bomb on down the right-wing, and he is willing to overlap, showing what Albion have been missing this season with the out-and-out full-back.
“We’ve seen (Alfie) Gilchrist and (George) Campbell play there, but they are more suited to playing centre-back.
“Having a natural full-back in Imray has really helped Albion and, personally, I would be very happy to have him on a permanent basis, if he’s willing to join in the summer again rather than compete for his place at Crystal Palace with Daniel Munoz.
“I definitely like to see more of him for the rest of this season, see how he performs and hopefully Albion stay up. If he does then he’ll at least sign for us on another loan next season if we can’t get him permanently.”

Harold Wood-born Imray played youth football for Ilford, Billericay Town and Chelmsford City, playing senior stuff with the latter, before joining Crystal Palace’s academy in 2021.
The 22-year-old is yet to make a first-team appearance for the Eagles but is rapidly rising through the divisions and Premier League football may not be too far away.
Having been a key man for Bromley in League Two last season, Imray was outstanding in the first-half of this season for a struggling Blackpool side in League One.
The flying right-sided full-back is now taking to the second-tier and for West Brom to stand any chance of retaining him next season, survival is imperative.
