West Brom Women sign Peterborough United striker Tara Kirk | OneFootball

West Brom Women have signed 23-year-old striker Tara Kirk from Peterborough United ahead of the new National League North season.

According to ExpressAndStar.com, the former Leicester forward boosts Siobhan Hodgetts-Still’s squad at step three of the women’s pyramid.

A Leicester academy product, Kirk made her senior Foxes debut in 2019, then joined Peterborough before 2022/23 and finished that campaign as their 12-goal top scorer.

Minutes were limited last term as unbeaten Posh won the Northern Division One Midlands title to reach step three. Kirk played 14 times, 13 as a substitute, and scored three.

Away from the pitch she works in events management and has built a sizeable profile, with appearances on Joe Weller’s YouTube channel and, in 2024, alongside Jack Grealish and Angry Ginge.

Her goals often drew thousands of online reactions, and she has more than 80,000 followers across X and Instagram.

After completing the move, she spoke of relief to get it done, praised the facilities and said the welcome from team-mates and staff had been outstanding. She has worked with interim head coach Martyn Irvine, with Hodgetts-Still on maternity leave, and felt their ambition matched hers.

Irvine’s side drew 1-1 with Real Bedford on Sunday, Welsh forward Rhianne Oakley scoring from the penalty spot. Albion face Leafield Athletic in a behind-closed-doors friendly on Wednesday.
