West Ham United are stepping up their interest in Sassuolo forward Andrea Pinamonti and will face stiff competition from two major Serie A clubs, Lazio and Roma, for his signature in the upcoming January transfer window.
According to Calciomercato.com, the Italian striker is proving to be a highly competitive option in the transfer market, and his continued goalscoring form has led to him being contested by several high-profile teams. The report confirms that Pinamonti, who is under contract until 2027, could be on the move as early as January.
West Ham is leading the interest from the Premier League. The Hammers are currently experiencing a complicated season and, despite a recent managerial change, are looking for reinforcements up front, viewing Pinamonti as a potential solution for their “asphyxiated” attack.
Meanwhile, in Italy, the main competition for his signature comes from Lazio and Roma. Lazio, who have previously attempted to sign the striker, are reportedly trying again, with manager Maurizio Sarri said to be a keen admirer of the player. Roma is also mentioned as being in the running, adding an extra layer of competitive tension to the potential transfer.
Pinamonti, who is just 26, is seen by these clubs as a reliable player who knows the league well and wouldn’t require a long adaptation period. Any transfer is expected to be structured initially as a loan with an option or obligation to buy for a significant fee.
