West Ham have banned half-and-half scarves for Saturday evening’s London derby against Tottenham.
Spurs make the short trip to east London this weekend the latest renewnal of one of English football’s fierest rivalries.
And fans have been warned not to wear “items illustrating the colours/crests of both clubs”. Any items deemed to be breaching the ruled will be binned by security staff.
It is a part of the “increased security measures” West Ham have put in place as they seek to prevent away supporters from getting access to home sections.
A statement read: “West Ham United would like to make supporters aware that enhanced security measures will be in place for Saturday’s match against Tottenham Hotspur.
“This includes additional checks at turnstiles, restrictions on half-and-half scarves or items illustrating the colours/crests of both clubs and steps to ensure home areas remain for West Ham United fans only.
“We would like to kindly ask all supporters for patience when entering the stadium to allow our staff to perform these checks, especially during the busiest times in the 45 minutes ahead of kick-off.”
The game, which is being broadcast on Sky Sports, kicks off at 5.30pm on Saturday, September 13, 2025.
