Football League World claims West Ham have entered the race to sign Swansea City midfielder Ethan Galbraith, with Wrexham also monitoring.
West Ham are understood to have watched him for about a year, although there is no indication they have moved beyond monitoring. The picture could shift if Manchester United prise away Mateus Fernandes, a serious target for the Red Devils this summer following West Ham's relegation.
Galbraith impressed in his first Championship season after joining from Leyton Orient, making 44 appearances in all competitions. The versatile midfielder often filled in at right-back, and played 28 minutes for Northern Ireland against France in Monday night’s friendly.
He has two years left on his deal, with an option for a further 12 months. Swansea sought to extend on improved terms, but an initial proposal, believed to be below the club’s top earners, was rejected and talks have stalled.
West Ham are also tracking Swans striker Zan Vipotnik, who was recently presented with his Golden Boot by co-owner Luka Modric while on international duty. Swansea placed a £15m price on him in January, and after continued scoring form and a new contract, his valuation is likely to be higher.
All of this comes as Swansea search for a new sporting director to replace Adam Worth, who left as head of recruitment in April. Club great Michu has been linked elsewhere with the role, though it is understood he is not currently in the frame.
