West Ham will be looking to win promotion back into the Premier League at the first time of asking this season, whilst under the management of Nuno Espírito Santo.

The Hammers endured a forgetful campaign last term, as their 14-year spell in the top-flight came to a frustrating end.

However, with Espírito Santo in charge for their upcoming Championship campaign, West Ham have a great chance at returning to the Premier League at the first time of asking.

It's already been a busy summer for the West Ham boss though, with Crysencio Summerville's for a sizeable fee being a real blow for the Hammers.

Mateus Fernandes departed in favour of a move to Tottenham Hotspur, whilst Callum Wilson left on a free transfer to move to Brentford.

In more positive news, Jarrod Bowen has revealed that he'll be sticking with West Ham, in what is a huge boost for the club's supporters, who would have been fearing that their captain would depart this summer.

West Ham are clearly keen to add to their first-team squad in the near future, as the upcoming 2026/27 Championship season gets underway in just two weeks.

It's been revealed by ExWHUEmployee that Sunderland are keen on a deal to sign Sunderland's Simon Adingra and Wilson Isidor.

The report outlines that West Ham are keen to strike a deal to land Adingra's signature, and Sunderland are willing to cash in on the midfielder, although the Black Cats' asking price is way beyond what the Hammers would be wanting to pay for his services.

It's also claimed that talks are ongoing with Sunderland over a potential deal for Wilson Isidor, who caught the eye with some strong performances in the Premier League last season, as well as with Haiti in the 2026 World Cup.

It remains to be seen as to what stage of negotiations West Ham are currently at with Isidor, but he could be the ideal forward to thrive off the creative ability that Jarrod Bowen has in his locker.

Is a deal for Adingra and Isidor a smart move for West Ham?

Adingra and Isidor have had contrasting spells with Sunderland, with Adingra making less of an impact than Isidor has had so far in his spell with the club.

Adingra only signed for Sunderland last year, as he signed a five-year deal at the Stadium of Light, but he's found regular game time hard to come by.

With Sunderland being linked to plenty of potential signings, Adingra could be pushed further down the pecking order in Régis Le Bris' plans for the upcoming Premier League campaign.

Isidor has two years remaining on his contract with Sunderland, and is a popular figure amongst the club's supporters. He first signed for the club on loan from Russian side, Zenit Saint Petersburg.

He made a positive impact in that promotion-winning season with Sunderland as well, as he scored 13 goals in 46 appearances for the Black Cats, as they returned to the Premier League.

With the new season getting closer by the day, West Ham will be eager to have deals in place for potential incomings, and it seems as though they've still got some progress to make in their efforts to sign Adingra and Isidor.

The Hammers take on Portsmouth in the EFL Cup on Saturday 8th August, before facing Burnley, in what promises to be a tricky test for them in matchday one of this year's league campaign.
