West Ham United have activated their £1 million option to sign Venezuelan winger Keiber Lamadrid, according to The Athletic.

West Ham brought the 22-year-old to the London Stadium club from Deportivo La Guaira on loan in January.

A clause in the deal meant the Hammers could make the deal permanent in the summer and they have now done so without any official announcement.

Lamadrid has only made one appearance for West Ham, coming off the bench in the 72nd minute of their FA Cup fourth-round win against Burton Albion in February.

He had to continue his physical conditioning with the Hammers medical team upon his arrival having only commenced a pre-season schedule after not playing since the 2025 Liga FUTVE season concluded in early December.

The Venezuela international will now look to hit the ground running next season as West Ham aim to secure an immediate return to the Premier League.

Lamadrid was named the best under-23 player in the Venezuelan top-flight for the 2025 season and the Championship could be the perfect place for him to prove himself.

He also featured for West Ham under-23s in three fixtures, weighing in with one goal and one assist.

He ended his Deportivo La Guaira career with 14 goals and seven assists in 104 appearances and could be a key player for Nuno Espirito Santo’s team next term.

The Hammers have started preparing for life outside the Premier League, with Sheffield United midfielder Sydie Peck and Cardiff City defender Dylan Lawlor both on their radar.
