West Ham United goalkeeper Megan Walsh has signed a new two-year deal with the club.

WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Hammers this afternoon.

The 30-year-old Republic of Ireland international keeper joined West Ham United in summer 2023 after leaving Brighton & Hove Albion. Walsh has made 10 appearances for the East Londoners in all competitions.

While Walsh hasn’t been the West Ham United number one, her role shouldn’t be underestimated. She has provided stern competition in what has been a very strong West Ham United goalkeepers’ union.

Walsh is an important member of the West Ham United squad and the club have therefore moved to retain her services for two more years.

After signing on again with The Hammers, Walsh said “I’m happy to sign a new contract at West Ham United. I’ve enjoyed my time here over the last couple of years. I feel settled and am ready to push on for another two years.

“We have a brilliant bunch of girls and the atmosphere in the building is great to be a part of. I enjoy working with someone like Chris [Pipe], who picks up little things in my game that I can improve on – his attention to detail is something that I really value.

“The growth of the Club since I’ve been here, and the job that Rehanne [Skinner] has done, has been evident for everyone to see. We’ve come on leaps and bounds in that time and I’m excited for what this team can achieve moving forwards.”

Further West Ham United squad news will be announced in due course.
