West Midlands venues are gearing up to show England’s World Cup knockout tie with Mexico, kicking off at one am, with extended hours and big screens. According to ExpressAndStar.com, pubs from Birmingham to Cannock are planning for late-night crowds and a lively atmosphere.

The British Oak in Kingswinford has set up a ticketed night for supporters, with a five pound entry fee waived against the first drink.

In Wolverhampton, Hogs Head will screen the match and manage entry for the late start. The Ashmore Inn, The Angel Inn Bar and Grill, and Jacks Cafe and Bar have also confirmed screenings.

Walsall options include The Farmers Boy and WS1 Live Lounge, with The Shoulder of Mutton and Fishley Park nearby.

In Stafford, The Grapes and The Yard plan to stay open until five am, while in Birmingham The Kingstanding Inn will also show the tie.

Further confirmations include Friar Park Millennium Centre in Wednesbury, The Rocket Pools Inn in Bilston, The Royal Oak in Cannock, The Red Lion in Wednesfield, The Crown in Bridgnorth and Habberley Social Club in Kidderminster.

Supporters are also eyeing the Himley Fan Zone, a large communal screening with big screens, food, drink and a stadium-style feel for the early-hours kick-off.

With England one win from the quarter-finals, venues expect strong demand despite the overnight start. Many are advising early arrival or pre-booking, and some will enforce last entry times as more locations come on board.
