What awaits FC Bayern at the Club World Cup?

It all starts in 50 days! For the first time in history, 32 teams will be competing for the FIFA Club World Cup. FC Bayern are already looking forward to the eagerly awaited tournament in the USA. "The fact that we can compete with the 31 other best clubs in the world is something special. The tournament is very important to us. The players are all raring to go and we want to achieve the best possible result," said Jan-Christian Dreesen, CEO of the German record champions.

The unique Club World Cup trophy also made a stop in Munich during the trophy tour.
"The closer we get to the tournament, the more we look forward to it. It'll be something special and unique. I'm really looking forward to it," said FCB head coach Vincent Kompany. The FC Bayern squad will head off on their journey to the USA on 10 June and set up base camp in Orlando, Florida. In the first group game, they'll take on Auckland City in Cincinnati on 15 June (6pm CEST). The second match against Boca Juniors will take place in Miami (21 June, 3am CEST). In the final group match, the men from Munich will face Benfica in Charlotte on 24 June (9pm CEST). The top two teams in each group will advance to the round of 16. From there, the knockout phase will continue with one-legged ties through to the final.
In the run-up to the Club World Cup, FC Bayern are already organising a number of activities together with their fans in the USA. This weekend, a campaign will continue in Charlotte, where there will be a major Bayern challenge with fans of FC Bayern and, among others, the Carolina Panthers American football team and FC Charlotte. Further Bayern challenges and several other campaigns in the USA will follow soon.
