Bizarre footages emerges involving Heung-Min Son and James Maddison joking about the Championship club in training.
Coventry City fans will love footage of Heung-min Son joking with their local lad, James Maddison in training.
Footage has emerged via X of former Spurs captain Heung-min Son joking with his teammate James Maddison in training about Coventry City.
Maddison is widely adored by Coventry fans after kicking off his career with the Sky Blues at 17 years of age. After being born and raised in the city, the 28-year-old progressed through the ranks before earning his spot in the first team in 2014/15.
Maddison spent two-and-a-half years at the club where he made 42 appearances in all competitions, finding the net five times and providing five assists, which earned him a move to fellow Championship outfit Norwich City in February 2016.
After carrying his strong affiliation with his local club throughout his career, it has obviously rubbed off on his teammates with footage emerging of former Spurs star-man Heung-min Son joking around with Maddison in training.
In a video that has recently surfaced on X, Son and Maddison appear to be having a jokey conversation whilst in the gym, but the topic of concern is somewhat bizarre.
With Son's future now decided at LAFC, Maddison questioned Son by saying, "You're leaving to go to Coventry?"
To which the South Korean international replied with the well-renowned chant seen around the ground in the West-midlands, "Come on Coventry army!"
Son continued by saying,"He's (Maddison) just obsessed with Coventry. I just started following them."
With Maddison still an avid follower of his boyhood club, he sure seems to have recruited another Sky Blues fan despite Son recently jetting off to continue his career in Los Angeles after spending 10 seasons with the North London club.
In the video, Maddison went on to say, "It got to the point last year where he would text me if Coventry conceded or something.
Son quickly interjected, "Like every time, great result! Also, I would make a screenshot and send it to you."
Maddison laughed Son's comment off while teasingly grabbing his partner's training vest.
After coming from humble beginnings to a rise in stardom by playing in the Premier League with Leicester City and Tottenham Hotspur, Maddison has had a decorated career so far.
He's won the Europa League, FA Cup, and Community Shield, whilst also making a handful of England caps over the last few years.
However, the attacking midfielder has not forgotten his roots.
Being at Coventry City for two-and-a-half years shaped his early career, as he was considered a future star by Sky Blues fans, which has gone on to be true.
Through evidence highlighted in the video by Son, it is clear that Maddison still holds close ties with his local club and city, which Coventry fans will love to see and will hold their former fan favourite in high regard.
