Josh Sargent has been linked with a move away from Norwich City this January
Philippe Clement has addressed Josh Sargent’s future at Norwich City with the January transfer window now open amid interest from West Ham and Burnley.
The Canaries have fended off interest in the forward in the past, with speculation surrounding the player persisting in recent seasons due to his impressive performances in the Championship.
The American remains a key part of the Norfolk outfit’s first team squad, but again there are reports of interest from the Premier League.
West Ham were linked with a move for the forward, with it being suggested that a £20 million asking price was going to see them move onto other targets for the winter market.
Burnley are also reportedly interested in the striker, with Scott Parker’s side eyeing survival in the top flight in the second half of the campaign.

Clement has claimed that his preference is for Sargent to remain at Carrow Road beyond the January transfer window, with the club eyeing survival against relegation to League One.
He is optimistic that the 25-year-old will remain with the Canaries beyond the 2 February deadline, with the manager keen to keep his star forward at the club.
“I want him to be here,” said Clement, via Paddy Davitt on X.
“I expect him to be here.
“We want to keep our best players.
“But I will not spend the next weeks discussing any speculation.
“Only this one time.”
Sargent has made 22 appearances in the Championship so far this season, contributing seven goals and three assists for Norwich.
However, the Canaries have struggled for consistent results, with the team fighting against relegation to League One.
Clement was appointed as manager in November, replacing summer appointment Liam Manning at the helm.
Sargent has a contract with the Norfolk outfit until the summer of 2028, giving the club a strong position in any potential upcoming transfer talks with the likes of West Ham or Burnley.

Norwich have been unable to earn consistent results in the first half of the Championship season, with the team sitting in the bottom three to start 2026.
However, Sargent remains in-demand despite the club’s poor results, with his performances continuing to impress.
If Norwich are going to remain in the second tier beyond this season, then keeping him could be the difference between survival and relegation.
West Ham have reportedly agreed deals to sign Pablo Felipe and Taty Castellanos, meaning it’s unlikely they will target Sargent this month.
This comes as a massive boost to the Championship side, who will need to keep the US international around if they’re to have any chance of survival.
However, Burnley were also linked with a move for the striker, and Parker’s side have yet to make any moves to sign someone this month.
The Clarets are also in danger of relegation, with the club sitting inside the relegation zone in the Premier League, and now cut adrift from the chasing pack.
It remains to be seen whether the £20 million asking price will attract a bid from Burnley, or if that will put off any potential suitors in January.
