Jamal Lowe has thanked Manchester United following Sheffield Wednesday's 1-1 draw with QPR
Jamal Lowe has thanked Manchester United for bringing Harry Amass to Sheffield Wednesday after his performance on Saturday against QPR.
The Owls earned a point against the West London outfit, with the defender featuring for the full 90 minutes.
The promising left-back made the switch to Wednesday late in the summer transfer window, arriving on loan from the Premier League side.
Amass featured on seven occasions for the Red Devils last season, including five appearances in the top-flight, and is proving to represent a shrewd acquisition at Hillsborough from a window which saw the Owls restricted to making just two additions.
This was his third appearance in Henrik Pedersen’s team, with Sheffield Wednesday earning four points from a possible nine in that period.
A first half goal by Dominic Iorfa gave the hosts the lead initially, before Nicolas Madsen’s 48th minute penalty equalised for the Hoops to seal a 1-1 draw.
Amass posted his thanks to the fans after the game for their contribution to the 1-1 draw at home to QPR on Saturday afternoon.
The defender is quickly earning a reputation among supporters as a favourite in the squad, having been one of only two players to join the club last summer, along with goalkeeper Ethan Horvath.
“We keep building , thank you to the fans as always,” wrote Amass, via his Instagram page.
Lowe responded in the comments with: “Thank you Carrington” to further cement the gratitude shown to Man United for their role in ensuring the deal went through on deadline day.
The ex-Swansea City striker clearly has gratitude to the Red Devils for blooding Amass through their academy before enabling him to move across to South Yorkshire, with their efforts in helping Wednesday complete the deal well-documented.
It was reported by The Star following the completion of his loan move to Hillsborough that the Premier League side have agreed to pay every penny for everything involved in the move, including wages, accommodation and any bonuses he may earn during his time in the Championship.
Transfer restrictions placed on the Owls due to financial issues meant they were unable to conduct any meaningful transfer business, with the exceptions of their loan agreements for Horvath and Amass.
Next up for Sheffield Wednesday is a midweek clash away to Birmingham City on 30 September in a 7.45pm kick-off at St. Andrew’s @ Knighthead Park.
Amass is looking like a quality prospect already for Sheffield Wednesday after just three appearances for the club.
The defender is still only 18-years-of-age, and he is already looking like one of the team’s top talents.
This deal could prove quite beneficial for all parties, as it gives the youngster the first team minutes that he needs at this stage of his development.
Given the issues surrounding Sheffield Wednesday, the deal to bring in Amass is proving quite popular among the supporters and the players in the dressing room as well.
