The Premier League season comes to an end this afternoon, but there’s so much still to be decided before the final whistle on the campaign.

Here is everything that will be determined by today’s games.

Champions League qualification

Arsenal, Manchester City, Manchester United, and Aston Villa have all secured Champions League football for next season by securing top-five finishes in the Premier League. England has been allocated an additional fifth place for next season’s competition, as part of UEFA’s European Performance Spots.

Liverpool hold that place as things stand and will be assured of a top-five finish if the Reds avoid defeat to Brentford. Arne Slot’s side are likely to take that place regardless, due to their superior goal difference.

However, a twist of events could see sixth-place take Champions League football. After Aston Villa won the Europa League, sixth place will secure Champions League football if Villa finish fifth. That would require Unai Emery’s team to lose at Manchester City, and Liverpool to beat Brentford. Bournemouth are sixth, but Brighton will overtake the Cherries if they win and Bournemouth lose.

Europa League and Conference League qualification

Unless Liverpool and Aston Villa change places on the final day, sixth and seventh will secure Europa League football. Eighth place will qualify for the Conference League.

Bournemouth and Brentford hold the Europa League positions, with Chelsea currently in the Conference League berth.

Bournemouth are guaranteed at least Europa League football, but as many as four teams are in the mix for the remaining spots.

Just two points split sixth-placed Brighton, Chelsea, Brentford, and Sunderland. Sunderland and Chelsea face each other at the Stadium of Light.

Relegation battle

The equation for the relegation battle is clear: a straight shootout between Tottenham and West Ham. Spurs hold the advantage, with a two-point lead and vastly superior goal difference.

A point at home to Everton should be enough for Spurs, but defeat could put them in danger of a first relegation since 1977. If Spurs lose and West Ham beat Leeds United at the London Stadium, the Hammers will leapfrog Spurs and survive.

Former West Ham manager David Moyes will take charge of Everton at Spurs, in an intriguing sub-plot. Can he do his old team a favour?
