Michael Beale endured plenty of positives and negatives in his time with QPR and Rangers, but what's happening with him nowadays?
QPR have had their fair share of managers that have come and gone over the years, with some making more of a positive impact than others.
The days of playing in the Premier League will feel like a distant memory to the majority of the QPR fanbase, with the club struggling to gain momentum in their efforts to return to the top-flight.
The Hoops have found it tough to put together a positive run of results in recent months of the 2025/26 season under the management of Julien Stéphan, which is something the Frenchman will be eager to change as soon as possible.
One former QPR manager that had mixed fortunes in his time with the club is Michael Beale, who spent just over five months at the MATRADE Loftus Road Stadium before departing in favour of a move to Scottish giants, Rangers.
Some might be wondering what Beale is up to nowadays, but rest assured, we'll take you through all you need to know about what the former QPR and Rangers boss has been doing lately, as well as looking at his time with both of his former clubs.

Beale was appointed as QPR's manager back in June 2022, and had a tough start to life in the Championship, as his side only won once from their first five matches in the second-tier, which put some pressure on him early on.
However, that pressure was soon eased as QPR went on to win eight of their next 11 matches, which saw the Hoops sit top of the Championship table at one stage during the 2022/23 league campaign.
This strong run of form seemingly didn't go unnoticed, as Wolves came calling for Beale's services, but the 45-year-old turned down their approach to take charge of the club.
Despite talking about loyalty in an interview with QPR after the approach from Wolves was turned down, Beale accepted an approach from Rangers to become their new manager in November 2022, where he had previously worked as a coach under Steven Gerrard.

Having worked previously as a coach at Rangers whilst they were under the management of Steven Gerrard, Beale was in familiar surroundings at Ibrox.
He made a strong start to his tenure, but found it tough in crucial moments of his time with the Scottish giants, as they went trophyless in the 2022/23 season, much to the frustration of the club's supporters.
A sluggish start to the 2023/24 soon followed, and that saw Beale sacked from his role in charge of the club in October 2023 with a win percentage of 72.09%.
After a disastrous spell in charge of Sunderland that only lasted 12 matches, Beale returned to football in a coaching capacity in November 2024, as he was named as Steven Gerrard's assistant at Saudi Pro League side, Al-Ettifaq.

That was another relatively short spell for Beale, as he departed with Gerrard, who left the Saudi giants by mutual consent in January 2025.
He has since been posting regularly on his Instagram account about what he's up to nowadays, which includes spending time with family and friends, as well as following football from a coaching perspective.
Recently, Beale revealed that he finished an 11-day study trip within football, and it remains to be seen as to when he'll return to the professional game in a coaching or managerial capacity.
"Just completed an 11-day study trip across Europe. 8 games, 6 cities, and 4 countries. Learning and growth are deeply personal. The variation in warm ups, tactical systems used, specific movement & rotations or set play organisation. Football is always giving you new insights to enhance your knowledge or perspective.
"There is truly no substitute for being inside the stadium. Beyond the tactical analysis, to fully understand the game, you must "feel it". Sitting among the home crowd offers a unique insight in the local football culture, where you can feel every wave of passion, hope, and anxiety. When analysing a game via video or data, never overlook or underestimate the "stadium environment" that is unique to each club."
Beale is clearly still keen to stay in touch with football whilst being out of the game professionally, and he could turn out to be a shrewd appointment for a club that potentially targets him as their next manager or coach.
