The Scotsman spent last season with Las Palmas, but has become a free agent since suffering relegation from La Liga and is being touted for a swift return to the Championship.

Alan Nixon originally reported that the Blades were interested in a reunion with the 29-year-old, while the journalist also revealed this week that the Swans had edged ahead of Hull City for his signature.

Meanwhile, Tigers boss Sergej Jakirovic has opened up about wanting to sign McBurnie, believing the frontman can bring leadership, experience and goals, as per Hull Live.

All of these clubs remain hopeful that McBurnie will choose them as his next destination, but a fresh report from The Star has detailed when the forward expects to make up his mind.

McBurnie is reportedly back in England after his short stint in Spain, travelling to South Yorkshire earlier this week for a round of golf with former Sheffield United defender Matt Kilgalion, who are close friends.

McBurnie is also believed to have linked up with former Blade David McGoldrick on his return to the country.

The Star has revealed that Sheffield United have now held discussions with the Scottish international over a return to Bramall Lane, as the Blades have been restricted to utilising free agent and loan signings before the 1st September deadline.
