The likes of Leeds and Hull occupy a spot in the Premier League for the upcoming 2026/27 campaign, whilst the likes of Sheffield United, Sheffield Wednesday, and Bradford City will be looking to work their way back up the English football pyramid.

Here, though, we've asked AI to rank where they think all Yorkshire clubs will finish in their respective league in the 2026/27 season, and there will be plenty of talking points after some eye-opening predictions.

Leeds United - 11th (Premier League)

Leeds United had plenty of positives to take from the 2025/26 season, and Daniel Farke will be eager to take his side to the next level moving forward.

They've already added former Fulham winger, Harry Wilson to their squad ahead of the new Premier League campaign, and the Elland Road faithful might be quietly confident that they can secure a top-half finish next season.

ChatGPT has issued their verdict on Leeds' chances of achieving that, and predicted that they would finish 11th in the table, which can certainly be seen as a positive for the Whites.

Hull City - 18th (Premier League)

Not many would have predicted Hull City to win promotion into the Premier League last season, but they did just that. After finishing sixth in the table, they went on to beat Middlesbrough in the Championship play-off final.

The Tigers have an almighty task if they're to retain their status as a top-flight club though, with it being an unforgiving league for promoted teams in recent years.

ChatGPT predicts that they'll finish 18th in the table, which would see them return to the second-tier after a brief spell in the Premier League.

Sheffield United - 7th (Championship)

Sheffield United endured a season to forget last term, with Ruben Selles' disastrous spell in charge of the club proving costly, as they had originally hoped to win promotion back into the Premier League.

However, Chris Wilder hasn't been too convincing in his second spell in charge of the Blades, as they finished 13th in the Championship table, which was 13 points adrift of the play-off places.

It's set to be an interesting summer ahead at Bramall Lane, as Wilder looks to build a squad capable of challenging for promotion. AI have predicted that they'll finish in the new six-team play-off positions.

Bradford City - 19th (League One)

Bradford City had a strong first season back in League One, as they finished fourth in the third-tier standings. The Bantams were beaten by Bolton Wanderers in their play-off semi-final, with the Trotters going on to win promotion into the Championship.

ChatGPT doesn't rate Bradford's chances of replicating that finish in the 2026/27 campaign, as they've predicted that Graham Alexander's side will finish 19th in the table, which certainly seems harsh after such a strong campaign last term.

Sheffield Wednesday - 2nd (League One)

It's extremely difficult to predict Sheffield Wednesday's season ahead, although it'll certainly be brighter than last year's campaign, which was one to forget on and off the pitch.

David Storch is in charge of off-field matters nowadays, which brought an end to a disastrous time in charge of the club from former owner, Dejphon Chanisiri.

ChatGPT has made the somewhat bold call in suggesting that they expect Sheffield Wednesday to finish second in League One next season.

Their promotion chances could hinge on how many quality players they can get through the door this summer, as reinforcements are certainly needed at Hillsborough.

Barnsley - 5th (League One)

Barnsley would have been keen to shift any memory during the 2025/26 season to the back of their minds at the earliest opportunities, and it's clear to see why.

The Yorkshire-based club finished 15th in the League One table last term, which was their worst finish in the third-tier since the 2002/03 season, which was considerably far ago.

Despite their poor showings last season, Barnsley are predicted to finish fifth in the third-tier standings.

Huddersfield Town - 9th (League One)

Huddersfield Town's promotion bid from League One tailed off in disappointing fashion last season, and they ended up finishing ninth in the table after 46 games.

ChatGPT doesn't expect it to be too different for Huddersfield this term, as the Terriers are predicted to finish ninth once again in the third-tier of English football.

Arrivals such as Ashley Fletcher are smart pieces of business, and they'll be hoping that they can hit the ground running.

Doncaster Rovers - 13th (League One)

Doncaster finished 14th in their first season back in League One last season, after winning promotion from League Two in the year prior, and they've not looked out of place by any stretch of the imagination.

Donny have lost Billy Sharp this summer, with the former Sheffield United and Southampton forward becoming a free agent after a spell with Doncaster.

It's been predicted by AI that Doncaster will finish 13th in the League One table, and if they can recruit in advance ahead of pre-season, then they've got a great chance to finish higher up the table than that.

Rotherham United - 4th (League Two)

Rotherham United's supporters will be hoping to see their side make a return to League One at the first time of asking, having been relegated from the third-tier, in what was a hugely disappointing campaign.

The Millers last played in the fourth-tier all the way back in the 2012/13 season, which seems a considerable long way ago for many of their fans.

ChatGPT has Rotherham finishing fourth in League Two next season, although they wouldn't be drawn into making a prediction as to whether the club would win their play-off matches.

York City - 10th (League Two)

Gambar artikel:Where AI thinks all Yorkshire clubs will finish in their respective league in 26/27

York City were promoted into the Football League in dramatic circumstances, as they came from behind to beat Boreham Wood in the National League play-off final.

They'll fancy their chances of establishing themselves in the fourth-tier as well, and AI agrees with that, as ChatGPT have them finishing tenth in the League Two table for the 2026/27 season.

York City's impressive rise through the National League seemingly didn't go unnoticed though, with plenty of their key players being linked with moves away from the club on a more frequent basis.

If they can add to their squad, then they could potentially achieve better than a mid-table finish in their first season back in League Two, and so it'll be an interesting season ahead.
