Inter Milan captain Lautaro Martinez has recently revealed his ‘dream’ of returning to Racing Club one day.
According to Il Giorno via FCInterNews, El Toro’s return to his boyhood club is not a foregone conclusion.
Lautaro Martinez graduated from Racing’s youth academy, making his professional debut for the club in 2015.
However, he left his homeland in 2018 to join Inter in a €22.7 million deal, only to become the cornerstone of their success in the last decade.
In addition to earning the captain’s armband, the Argentine striker has become the club’s fourth top goalscorer of all time.
Despite his household status at San Siro, Lautaro hinted at returning to Argentina earlier this week.
Indeed, the prolific goal-getter confirmed that he would love to return to Racing in the future.
Meanwhile, his contract in Milan runs until 2029, with the Nerazzurri eager to keep him until the end of his career.
That’s a distinct possibility, as Lautaro is chasing several club records.
Furthermore, his wife has a business interest in Milan and has no intention of leaving Italy.
On the other hand, Lautaro’s family and friends live in Argentina, which could pull him toward a potential return to his homeland.
