According to Stake, the 2025/26 Premier League net spend table shows where Leeds United and their rivals ranked, and why the campaign unfolded as it did.
Arsenal won the title for the first time since their 2003/04 Invincibles season, holding off Manchester City. They posted the division’s biggest net spend across the two windows, £263m out, £12.9m in, net £250.1m.
Liverpool’s net spend was £235m after £442m out and £207m in. That was £69m more than Manchester United’s £166.9m, with City at £135.2m, just under £100m below Liverpool.
Leeds spent £100.1m, recouped £8.6m, for a net £91.5m that ranked 10th. Daniel Farke’s side finished 14th, eight points clear of 18th-placed West Ham.
Among the promoted clubs, Sunderland led the outlay with £156m spent and £37m recouped, a net £119.9m.
Newcastle United endured a difficult year despite £252m spent and £157m in, leaving a £95.6m net spend.
Tottenham posted £150.4m, Everton £116m, Nottingham Forest £95.9m and Chelsea £10m. Crystal Palace were £8m in profit, Wolves £14.7m, Brentford £50.2m, Brighton £66.35m and Bournemouth £90.7m.
