Which former Valencia coaches are still in work? Some may surprise you

A clutch of former Valencia coaches remain in management across club and international football, while others are out of work or in backroom roles, according to Superdeporte.
After three seasons at Mestalla, Rubén Baraja is without a club. Before him, Gennaro Gattuso became Italy head coach and José Bordalás remains the driving force behind a Getafe crafted in his image.
Javi Gracia resigned as Watford manager in February and has been linked with roles in several leagues, while Albert Celades took over at Pafos in January, his second club job after Valencia.
Marcelino García Toral is steering Villarreal, and Nuno leads West Ham. Pako Ayestarán is assistant to Unai Emery at Aston Villa after spells in Mexico and Portugal, and Gary Neville has not returned to coaching.
Antonio López, 68, manages Inter Kashi in India after a strong stint at Mohun Bagan. He arrived at Valencia with Rafa Benítez, who is now in charge of Panathinaikos.
Ronald Koeman won the Copa in a turbulent season and is in his second spell with the Netherlands. Óscar Fernández is an assistant at Al-Shahania in Qatar, and Quique Sánchez Flores is now Alavés head coach.
Ernesto Valverde continues to succeed with Athletic Club, though he appears set to end his stint at San Mamés this summer. Mauricio Pellegrino guides Lanús after winning the Copa and Recopa Sudamericana. Héctor Cúper has left Syria and Claudio Ranieri has moved into AS Roma’s offices.
