Leeds United youngsters Rhys Chadwick and Jayden Lienou are in the squad at Tottenham, with Premier League debuts possible this evening.
According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, the pair are surprise inclusions, replacing Noah Okafor, calf strain, and Jayden Bogle, hamstring issue. With Leeds now mathematically safe after West Ham’s weekend defeat to Arsenal, Daniel Farke has turned to the academy.
Chadwick, 18, was with the first team in pre-season in Germany and has trained with the seniors throughout. The midfielder signed his first professional deal in 2024, then fresh terms in January, after five goals and three assists in 18 Premier League 2 games.
A versatile option, he has played across midfield, on the right wing and even at centre-back.
Lienou arrived on a three-year deal in the summer from Manchester City, having been part of City’s Under-18 Premier League-winning side after starting at Everton. The full-back has settled quickly with the Under-23s.
He has 19 Premier League 2 appearances with one assist and is a Wales Under-19 international praised for his quality in possession and passing range under Scott Gardner.
Both could hope for minutes from the bench, though Farke will want to protect a six-game unbeaten run and is unlikely to hand debuts lightly. Chadwick may be the likelier option, able to cover Ao Tanaka or Anton Stach in midfield or Daniel James out wide. Any Lienou cameo would almost certainly be at left wing-back, with James Justin starting and Sam Byram available.
