Who could replace Bernardo Silva at Manchester City?  | OneFootball

Bernardo Silva is set to leave Manchester City at the end of this season. 

His current contract at the Etihad Stadium will expire in June, and he wants a fresh challenge at another club. 

Silva has made 449 appearances across all competitions. He has helped City win six Premier League titles and a Champions League. 

Replacing Silva will be challenging, but several players have similar qualities.

Sandro Tonali

Tonali has earned rave reviews with his performances since joining Newcastle United in 2023. 

He has made 20 direct goal contributions in 104 appearances across all competitions for the Magpies. 

Tonali brings the same tenacity and intensity to his game that Silva offers in midfield. 

He is a versatile player who is always driving forward and covering every blade of grass. 

The Athletic claims there is no gentleman’s agreement that allows Tonali to leave Newcastle this summer. 

A transfer to City could only happen if the player pushes for a move.  

Elliot Anderson

Anderson is currently the hottest young midfielder in the Premier League. 

The 23-year-old offers an attacking threat and excels in tight spaces. He is known for his tireless work rate, and his range of forward passing would replicate much of Silva’s influence.  

City have set their sights on Anderson, and they are the front-runners to sign him. 

They face fierce competition from Manchester United, who are reportedly going all out for the England international. 

United are on course to qualify for next season’s Champions League, which would boost their chances of securing a deal for Anderson.
