Germany have already sealed first place in World Cup Group E after matchday two, with a game to spare. BuLi News reports that they have also booked a Round of 32 spot.

Julian Nagelsmann's side thrashed Curaçao 7-1 then beat Ivory Coast 2-1. A subsequent 0-0 draw between Ecuador and Curaçao means no rival can match Germany's six points from two games.

Some supporters may ask what happens if Ivory Coast beat Curaçao and Germany lose to Ecuador, leaving both on six points. Under this tournament's rules, head-to-head outranks goal difference, so Germany's 2-1 win over Ivory Coast keeps them ahead.

Even a heavy German defeat alongside a big Ivorian win would not change that order because of the head-to-head.

As Group E winners, Germany will play their Round of 32 tie at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, USA, on June 29, against one of the best third-placed teams from Groups A, B, C, D or F.

It is also Germany's first successful World Cup group stage since 2014. Back then, the campaign ended with the trophy.
