Milan are preparing to take on Lecce in the second round of the 2025-26 Coppa Italia on Tuesday evening, but head coach Massimiliano Allegri will not be permitted to lead his side from the dugout due to a suspension he picked up while still in charge of Juventus in 2024.

Allegri is suspended for tonight’s match after being shown a red card during the Coppa Italia final between Juventus and Atalanta in 2024.

In what proved to be his final match in charge of the Old Lady, Allegri lost his temper on the touchline, ripped his jacket off, screamed in the face of the fourth official and sarcastically applauded referee Fabio Maresca after two second-half penalty appeals went against Juventus.

The incident earned Allegri a €5,000 fine and a two match suspension in the Coppa Italia.
Despite the fact that Allegri earned the suspension while in charge of Juventus, the ban carried over after his appointment as head coach of Milan.
He served the first match of his two-game ban on his competitive Rososneri debut, which saw the team defeat Bari 2-0 in August, and will now serve the second match of his suspension against Lecce on Tuesday night.
