The striker is coming back from Bayern Munich where he’s been on loan, but most reports say it’s unlikely that he comes back into the first team picture at Stamford Bridge. Instead, the club will look to cash in on him, and there are a few options on that front.

Top German insider Christian Falk has today confirmed that Newcastle are a potential suitor for the Senegal star this summer

“The €65m [£56.1m] Chelsea are looking for would be too much! Even if the Blues were to cut that figure in half, we can’t escape the fact that Jackson doesn’t suit Vincent Kompany’s system perfectly.”

It’s pretty damning, but it should be remembered that this is a very specific case – other teams will be more than happy to pay the €65m, we suspect. Newcastle and other Premier League teams are sure to be among them.
