Daniele Doveri will officiate Thursday’s high-stakes Serie A showdown between Fiorentina and Inter Milan.
According to Tuttosport via FCInterNews, Gianluca Rocchi confirmed Doveri, who was the official in the original fixture.
Indeed, the experienced referee blew the first whistle in December, only for Edoardo Bove’s collapse to cause the postponement.
However, Doveri was also in the VAR booth in Sunday’s Derby della Madonnina.
He failed to notice a penalty for Inter in the Milan derby.
Moreover, main referee Daniele Chiffi didn’t spot the incident either, leaving Simone Inzaghi fuming in the aftermath.
Inzaghi lost his temper after the game as Chiffi and Doveri refused to give Inter a penalty in a 1-1 draw.
However, the latter will be in charge of Thursday’s game in Florence.

That’s because Gianluca Rocchi always confirms the referee who started the suspended match.
Therefore, Doveri will see out a potentially season-defining contest at Stadio Artemio Franchi.
But he will be under scrutiny.
Inter will be out to avenge Sunday’s heartbreak and whittle down a three-point deficit on table-topping Napoli.
