Wolves and West Ham had also been credited with interest earlier in the year, making the Bluebirds' apparent success all the more eye-catching.

Norwegian outlet TV 2 reported in April that West Ham, Wolves, Benfica, Sporting CP and Hamburger SV were all interested in a summer move for Hjerto-Dahl. In the last few days, it appeared as though Rangers had won the race for Hjerto-Dahl over Cardiff.
