Wilfried Gnonto again changed the game from the bench in Leeds United’s 2-2 draw at Bournemouth and says this is not the time to complain about minutes, with an FA Cup semi-final and the last four league games close.

“I think it’s not the moment to be selfish. Obviously everyone wants to play more. But at the same time, whenever we have the chance we try to do our best and I think that makes the difference in the end.” He told LUTV.

It is not the first time the Italian has provided impetus as a substitute. He supplied assists against Liverpool and Brentford in December, then threaded the pass for the penalty in Saturday’s 3-0 win over Wolves.

At Bournemouth he played the ball that led to the 1-1 equaliser, credited as James Hill’s own goal, as Leeds moved to 40 points.

“It wasn’t the most beautiful. I think sometimes you need a bit of luck as well. But we deserve it.”

Lukas Nmecha and volley hero Sean Longstaff also made an impact from the bench on Wednesday. All three have struggled for consistent starts, with neither Longstaff nor Gnonto starting a Premier League match since November.

Daniel Farke praised his side’s fight and spirit, said he is confident they will avoid the drop and stressed that every member of the squad is key for the run-in, regardless of whether they play a full match or a brief cameo.
