Wilfried Nancy holds talks with Lorient as coaching hunt shifts | OneFootball

Wilfried Nancy has held talks with Lorient as they search for a successor to Olivier Pantaloni. According to L'Équipe, the 49-year-old, a free agent since leaving Celtic Glasgow on 5 January, spoke on Thursday with sporting director Laurent Koscielny.

With the market beginning to settle, Lorient have shifted focus after admiring Will Still and Stéphane Gilli, who are heading to Auxerre and Angers respectively.

Nancy coached CF Montréal then won the MLS title in 2023 with Columbus Crew, building a strong reputation in the United States. His profile appeals to Lorient’s American owners, Black Knight Football Club, who are also involved at Bournemouth.

If that route does not progress, Patrick Videira is also under consideration. The Le Mans coach has overseen two promotions in two years from National to Ligue 1.

Le Mans will not let him go easily, and he has one year left on his contract. Lens are also tracking Videira.
