Real Madrid will clash heads with Real Sociedad at the Reale Arena this Saturday afternoon as they look to secure a win on the road in La Liga. Los Blancos managed to secure a hard-fought 2-1 win over Mallorca before the international break, which should keep them in good spirits ahead of this game.

Xabi Alonso will set his men up in a 4-2-3-1 formation and is expected to keep changes to a minimum for this game. Hence, Kylian Mbappe will once again lead the line for the Madrid giants up top.

Defence

Thibaut Courtois will play in between the sticks for Los Blancos after conceding one goal in his last league appearance. Eder Militao will function alongside Dean Huijsen at the centre of Alonso’s defence as they look to keep the home side frustrated during the 90 minutes.

Trent Alexander-Arnold will try to put in a good display as the right-back, while Alvaro Carreras hopes to impress on the other flank as the left-back. Alonso will allow both of them to pick and choose their moments to join in on the attack.

Dani Carvajal and David Alaba will provide cover for the defensive positions on the bench.

Midfield

Aurelian Tchouameni and Federico Valverde will operate as the holding midfielders as they look to establish their superiority over the opposition at the centre of the park.

The gifted trio of Vinicius Jr., Arda Guler and Franco Mastantuono will play just ahead of them as part of the Real Madrid attack. Guler managed to score against Mallorca, which should give him a lot of confidence going into this game.

Dani Ceballos and Brahim Diaz will have to be content with a place on the bench and might come on to make an impact in the second half if required.

Attack

Kylian Mbappe will spearhead Alonso’s attack in the final third. The France international would be eager to make a difference for his team up top.

Gonzalo Garcia will make up the numbers on the bench as he waits for his chance to shine in the final quarter of the game if Los Blancos are in need of a goal by then.
