Mikel Arteta insisted Arsenal will keep fighting for the Premier League title despite 3–2 home defeat to Manchester United.

Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta played down concerns after his side suffered shock 3-2 defeat at home to Manchester United in the Premier League.

The result was Arsenal’s first home league loss of the season but Arteta made it clear that it will not change the team’s mindset.

He promised that the Gunners will continue their campaign with “courage” and strong belief that they can still win the title.

Arsenal remain top of the table holding four point lead over Manchester City and Aston Villa as they aim to end their long wait for league crown dating back to 2004.

Strong position across four competitions

Despite the setback, Arteta reminded supporters that Arsenal still competing strongly in multiple tournaments.

The London club will host Kairat Almaty on Wednesday in Champions League league phase, with the goal of finishing the group stage with perfect record.

Arsenal have won seven match out of seven in Europe this season and have already secured direct qualification to the round of 16 avoiding the play-off round next month.

Arsenal also still alive in both domestic cup competitions meaning they remain in contention on four fronts.

“The reaction was excellent”

Speaking at his press conference on Tuesday, Arteta asked how the squad responded after the unexpected defeat on Sunday.

He said the players handled the situation in positive way explaining that they took moment to reflect calmly before focusing on the months ahead.

Arteta added that the group understood they had earned the right to be in strong position across all competitions.

The loss to United came after two goalless draws against Liverpool & Nottingham Forest, but Arteta believes his team can push forward without fear.

Title belief remains strong

Arteta promised that Arsenal will approach the final stretch of the season with enjoyment and confidence.

He called on everyone connected to the club especially the fans, to stay united behind the team’s journey.

The manager stressed that the energy around the club must remain focused on chasing trophies rather than dwelling on one disappointing result.

Arsenal will be without William Saliba & Jurrien Timber who are both dealing with minor fitness issues.

Midfielder Mikel Merino and Declan Rice will also miss the match due to suspension.
