Shelbourne FC is delighted to announce the signing of Will Jarvis from Notts County, subject to international clearance.
The 23-year-old had put pen to paper on a long-term deal with the Reds as he returns to Tolka Park for the third time.
A graduate of the Hull City academy, Jarvis first joined Shels on loan in the summer of 2023, where he made 12 league appearances, scoring 3 goals and providing 3 assists as Damien Duff’s side finished 4th in the League of Ireland, securing a return to European football in the process.
The talented attacker came back on loan again for the 2024 season, featuring in 30 matches, scoring 9 goals and registering 5 assists across all competitions for Shels. Jarvis became a Riverside favourite having scored memorable goals in Dublin Derby wins against Bohs, Pats and Shamrock Rovers.
The Yorkshire man played a pivotal figure in the Reds title winning campaign, despite a recall to Hull City mid-season that abruptly ended his time at Tolka.
Jarvis also had his first taste of European experience with Shelbourne, scoring the winner from the spot in the UEFA Europa Conference League qualifier against St Joseph’s of Gibraltar to help secure an aggregate victory and set up a tie with FC Zurich.
His outstanding form was recognised with two League of Ireland Player of the Month awards, and he was among the contenders for the Player of the Year before his loan spell was brought to an early conclusion.
In total, across his two hugely influential loan spells at Shelbourne, Jarvis made 42 appearances across all competitions, scored 11 goals and provided 8 assists, becoming one of the Reds most influential players in recent years.
After Jarvis’ second spell in Tolka Park, Hull City recalled him in August 2024, and he went on to make 11 senior appearances for the Tigers before joining Notts County in January 2025 on a permanent deal, where he has since made 29 appearances, scoring 2 goals and contributing 2 assists.
Will Jarvis said: “It all came about very quickly, once I heard from Joey and Lukey well, it was a no brainer for me once I heard they wanted me back, I said to myself it’s about time to come back. I loved my time at Shels and I’m thrilled to be returning, it really does feel like coming home in a way. The years here were the best I’ve had in football. I think of the memories in 2023 and 2024. The club, the staff, and the fans helped me grow as a player and I’m excited to come back here again. There’s something special about playing at Tolka and I want to help bring more success here.”
Joey O’Brien, Shelbourne FC Head Coach, said: “Bringing Will back on a permanent deal is a huge boost for us. His record here speaks for itself. He brings goals, creativity, and real attacking intent. He knows this club, he knows this league, and we’re excited to have him back as part of our long term plans.”
Luke Byrne, Shelbourne FC Technical Director said: “I’m extremely happy and proud that Will has turned down a lot of other clubs to come back to Shelbourne. It shows the type of people we have in the club, from our staff to the fans, that Will was so comfortable here previously and wanted to come back and experience it again. It’s clear from speaking to him how much of a bond he has with the club and that’s important. He was so influential here and we know the quality he will bring to the team but he’s also a fantastic person and someone we’re going to nurture and develop to reach his undoubted potential. A special thank you to Mickey, Neil and the board for making this possible.”
