Manchester City will face off against Burnley at Turf Moor on Wednesday night as they look to secure a good result on the road in the Premier League. The Mancunian giants managed to beat Arsenal by a 2-1 scoreline recently, so they will be full of confidence going into this game in midweek.

Pep Guardiola will opt for the 4-2-3-1 formation and is expected to keep changes to a minimum for this game. Hence, Erling Haaland is likely to lead the charge for the Mancunian giants up top.

Defence

Gianluigi Donnarumma will operate in between the sticks for Man City after conceding one goal in his last league outing. Marc Guehi will continue to function alongside Abdukodir Khusanov at the centre of Guardiola’s defence as they focus on keeping a good shape when defending inside their half.

Matheus Nunes will try to catch the eye as the right-back, while Nico O’Reilly hopes to give a good account of himself on the other side as the left-back. Both of them will have to pick and choose their moments to join in on the attack.

John Stones and Nathan Ake will offer cover for the defensive positions on the bench.

Midfield

Rodri and Bernardo Silva will anchor the midfield for the Mancunian giants as they try to establish their superiority over the opposition at the centre of the park.

The talented trio of Jeremy Doku, Rayan Cherki and Antonio Semenyo will play just ahead of them as part of the Man City attack. All three of them need to link up with each other well if the Mancunian giants are to come on top this Wednesday night.

Nico Gonzalez and Savio will have to be content with a spot on the bench as they wait for their chance to shine in the second 45 minutes if needed.

Attack

Erling Haaland will spearhead Man City’s attack up top. He managed to score the winner against Arsenal, which should keep him in good spirits going into this game.

Omar Marmoush will have to settle for a place on the bench and might come on to influence the game in the final quarter if Man City are in need of a goal by then.
